The Android 3.0 platform was developed primarily for Android based tablets. It allows us to develop UI optimized for tablets and laptops. The Android 3.0 platform introduces new features both for users and developers. The improved user interface framework for android based tablets is one of them. This course overviews the main capabilities of this new framework. This course explains how to develop android applications that use activity fragments, how to develop an action bar (kind of a menu for android large screen devices such as tablets and laptops), how to develop applications that use the drag & drop capabilities introduced in Android 3.0 and how to create user notification in a simple easy to learn way (comparing with the way it was done so far). Taking this course you will learn how to develop Java applications for android 3.0 large screen devices and you will learn how keep the large screen version and the small screen version as one. The following video clip shows how simple it is to create activity fragments. The following video clip shows how simple it is to develop an action bar that looks like a series of tabs.
